This Fourth of July Weekend, join us for social events as we transport you out of this world! Start off the weekend at our Texas themed Carnival, where bigger is better! If you’re a new attendee, we’ll also be organizing a brief orientation-style event to help you acclimate to Convention. In the evening, watch YJA-ers from all over North America as they showcase their unique skills at our Talent Show competition, Showdown in the South. After that, prepare for some exciting activities to make new friends that could last a lifetime! The following day, dress up in your most colorful kurtas and cholis and show off your moves at Garba for a magical time. But the weekend isn’t over yet; head over to our post-garba Mela to refuel with some delicious snacks and re-energize with games. Finally, dance the night away at our formal event that’s sure to be an unforgettable getaway. We can’t wait for you to join us this July!

Day 1: Friday, July 1nd

Welcome Carnival

Get ready to kick off the best Convention yet with a fun-filled carnival including inflatables, games, snacks, and more! Catch up with old friends and get ready to meet new ones. Dress code is casual and the carnival will go on throughout the first day until Opening Ceremony.

Talent Show: Showdown in the South

We open nighttime programming with our 2022 Talent Show competition, Showdown in the South! This year’s talent show displays all of YJA’s talents from performers all around the country. Join us to see dreams come true on YJA’s biggest stage.

Icebreakers: Around the World

After celebrating the talents of our YJA community, it’s time to reconnect and meet new friends at this year’s mixer. Travel around the world while hanging out with friends and bonding with some of your favorite YJA classics!

Day 2: Saturday, July 2rd

Garba: Magical Masti

Missing Navratri season? Twirl your dandiyas into a magical night filled with dancing during the second night of Convention. Dress code is traditional Garba attire for ladies (i.e. Chanya Choli, Salwar Kamize) and traditional Indian attire for gentlemen (i.e. Kurta Pyjama, Sherwani, Dhoti/Kurta).

Mixer: Mela

After dancing the night away to 12-step, what better way to decompress than eating delicious Indian snacks and transporting yourself to the royal streets of India. Eat some food and participate in some fun team games Social has planned for you!

Day 3: Sunday, July 3th

Formal: European Escape

Get hyped for a night in Paris! From 2000’s Bollywood classics to today’s Pop hits, we want to see you all break it down on the dance floor like you’ve never before. Dress code is formal or semi-formal attire (suits, tuxedos, trousers, formal shirts with/without a tie, formal dresses, gowns, blouses with a skirt, formal shoes, heels, or loafers).
